oil pastels and distractions.

I meant to write today a few days ago but I got distracted. I started drawing the new ficus plant I got three days ago with oil pastels. I had a whole idea of how I want it to look and I actually managed to finish it. It turned out okay I guess.

Then I realised I am forgetting to drink the peach green tea that I brought in the room with me so I stopped, and then I realised there was oil pastels everywhere. On my cushion, on my phone, on the back of my arm and I realised I haven’t look up what’s the best way to contain these pastel dusts.

Then I got distracted by Pinterest and spent some time looking at oil pastels drawings which led to looking for more inspiration for a gallery wall or just bookshelves and then I got into looking at plants. Lots of distraction there.

I did finally get an almost big plant which we planted in the big planter. It’s looking good outside by the front door.

And then I remember that I should maybe try to update my Instagram page. and I did and it was ok. I always have a problem with updating because I overthink every picture, every word. and then I remembered it would be nice to listen to some music while having some quiet time in the room and I did and I listened for a tiny bit before realising that it is almost time to cook dinner so to the kitchen it is. I think this is my typical day really. Minus the ability to have a quiet time to do work. I was able to because it was the weekend. My days are usually filled with distractions from one thing to another. I can’t seem to concentrate and when I get the chance to, I get distracted. Even now, trying to finish this update, I get updated but I am determined to finish writing this weekly update. Creating some form of habit has been good I guess.

“Habits“ I have been continuing on so far ;

  • doing yoga every day

  • moisturising my face every night and day

  • updating this blog weekly

  • eating fruit every day

it’s not much but it’s something I guess :)

till next time, m

our week in pictures(sort of)

1. sunset and hopefully doing well monstera.

2. our valentines.

3. have always wanted to try out oil pastels and it has been fun.

4. from the work desk.

5. always some sort of truck, somewhere :)

6. sunrise :)

I’m still looking at Pinterest for ideas about a gallery wall or even just artworks. still have not thought of what to write here. still have not started on a new book to read. I still am continuing to do yoga even for ten minutes every day. so still trying here and there.

Our week in pictures

from my last update, I was talking about finding some wall art, unfortunately I have no update on that other then I am still looking, contemplating over artworks. It’s really hard to decide and usually I end up just looking at too many ideas on Pinterest so it’s hard to decide :)

on other news, it has been a month since i said that i will try to update my website every week! We did it i guess haha. And it has also been a month since I did yoga/exercise everyday! I think this is the longest I’ve tried to add more movements to my day and yes I did it and will definitely try to keep doing it!

1. Still documenting the morning sun. It is still such a nice sight to wake up to.

2. always nice to prepare the cards for mailing.

3. we get both views of sunrise and sunset here and it’s always so pretty.

4. rainbows too :) E was pretty excited to see one so clearly.

5. view from the sofa. the sun was shining so brightly from the other side and it was pretty.

6. hearts everywhere (not really)

so mostly the past week was just enjoying nature, mostly the light shows :) I think I really missed the sun when it was hidden. oh it’s also valentine’s day today. E was excited for it because he learned about it on his favourite show and they did an episode with them celebrating and E has been excited about it since. So we did our going to be family tradition I guess, a special holiday breakfast. We made him heart pancakes which we did last year too. and made each other valentines. it’s fun to have some sort of family tradition even when we keep things small. I don’t think we ever really did celebrate valentine’s day but now with E it’s fun because he enjoys knowing and learning about them. so happy love day.
